Do you NEED money for COLLEGE? The Foundation for Enhancing Communities (TFEC) offers over 60 scholarships from a variety of scholarship funds. In the last year, over 200 students were awarded more than $300,000 in scholarships! All scholarships have been established by generous local individuals, corporations or organizations to assist students with their educational pursuits. Whether honoring loved ones or providing for specific communities, each scholarship expresses a deep belief in the power of education to help today’s youth achieve their dreams. SCHOLARSHIP DETAILS Applications are available in hard copy at the Foundation office and in local high school guidance offices. They are available electronically on this site, along with individual scholarship criteria for each scholarship opportunity. Deadlines vary for each scholarship, so be sure to check each one, but the majority of deadlines are in the Spring of the year (February-April). All applications must be mailed into the Foundation for Enhancing Communities office, unless otherwise specified for the individual scholarship. Please mail the application and all supplemental pieces to: The Foundation for Enhancing Communities Attention: Jennifer Doyle 200 North Third Street, 8th Floor PO Box 678 Harrisburg, PA 17108-0678 Due dates are IN OFFICE dates not postmark dates. Each scholarship may have different supplemental materials such as reference letters or essays. Please review these things carefully, to ensure that your application will be complete. If it is not complete, it may not be considered. MOST applications require a copy of your STUDENT AID REPORT (SAR). This is sent to you after you complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid. This SAR must contain the Expected Family Contribution number (EFC), so please ensure that the copy you send has this number clearly indicated on it. This allows the committee to fully evaluate your financial need. It is important for you to complete this as it will assist in matching you with additional resources for financial aid. This form can be completed online at www.fafsa.ed.gov/ as early as January 1 of the year that you plan to attend college. If you trouble obtaining your SAR, please call the Federal Student Aid Information Center at 1-800-433-3243.
